Sex Offender Programs

You have been convicted of a sexual offence.

Sex Offender Programs (SOP) show you how to develop skills, attitudes, values and resources to help you to lead an offence free life.

Most Sex Offender Programs are facilitated in custody. If you are a graduate of a program you may be required to attend a Community Maintenance Program, usually as a condition of your parole.

High Intensity Sex Offender Program (HISOP)

HISOP will help you to make changes to the thoughts, attitudes and feelings that led to your offending. High intensity means that you will attend sessions 3 times a week for 7 to 10 months.

Who are Sex Offender Programs for?

You are eligible for these programs if you have committed a sexual offence. You will be assessed for your risk of reoffending and the staff will decide what program is best for you.

Why should I complete these programs?

When you complete SOP you will learn new skills and ways of behaving. You will learn how to manage problems in new ways and practice techniques for living a different way of life.

How long is the program?

It depends on what program you are doing and the length of your sentence. A program can run from 6 to 18 months.

Moderate Intensity Sex Offender Program (MISOP)

MISOP will help you to make changes to the thoughts, attitudes and feelings that led to your offending. Moderate intensity means that you will attend sessions 2 times a week for 6 to 8 months.
